Senegal had Belgium on the ropes early with two goals in the first 51 minutes. The Red Devils rallied though, getting some late magic from Romelu Lukaku and Youri Tielemans to send the game to extra time. A controversial penalty kick was awarded to Belgium in the dying embers of the game and Tielemans drilled it for a 3-2 win.

🇺🇸 USA 2–0 Bosnia and Herzegovina: American Heroes in the Bay Area

The USA did it — and they did it the hard way.

Folarin Balogun opened the scoring in the 45th minute after a deflected through ball from Malik Tillman fell in his path. Then, in the 64th minute, Balogun was issued a red card for serious foul play — leaving the USA to defend a one-goal lead with ten men for over half an hour.

Most teams would crumble. The USMNT did not. Malik Tillman scored a stunning free kick in the 82nd minute to make it 2-0 despite being a man down — one of the great moments of the entire tournament. The USA held on to win 2-0 and book their place in the Round of 16.

The USA face Belgium in the Round of 16 in Seattle on July 6. Ten men. Two goals. One historic result. The white USA jersey has never been more in demand.
